Mike – Catering Manager
Mike is a highly skilled butchery Catering Manager with over 40 years of experience. He began his journey as an apprentice in the craft of butchery at the age of 16, eventually owning three successful butchery shops in Tetbury, Stonehouse, and Nailsworth.
His expertise extends beyond his own ventures; he has also served as an area manager, training young butchers and apprentices, a skill he now employs to manage the exceptional butchery team at Jesse Smith. Mike has cultivated enduring relationships with local farmers, leveraging these connections to ensure Jesse Smith receives the finest products for its wholesale customers. In his spare time, Mike indulges his passion for food by crafting his own charcuterie, honing his skills as a fisherman, and delighting his family with his home cooking!
Paul – Delivery Driver
A seasoned veteran of the hospitality industry; beginning his culinary journey at catering college in 1974, Paul honed his skills as a chef before delving into the world of management.
Paul’s passion for hospitality led him to various roles within renowned establishments, with his expertise catching the attention of industry giants like Whitbread, Compass Group, Quadrant Catering, Aramark, and First Great Western Trains, where he excelled in sales, management, and development.
However, it was Paul’s entrepreneurial spirit that truly shone when he and his wife Lesley embarked on their own culinary adventure, founding Café Mosaic in Cirencester. For 14 years they delighted locals with delicious food, all sourced from trusted suppliers like Jesse Smith. Following Paul’s semi-retirement, he joined Jesse Smith as a part-time driver, delivering to some of our fantastic customers across the Cotswolds.
Sharon – Wholesale Sales & Admin
Sharon has had a distinguished career in the hospitality industry, notably managing The Butchers Arms in Sheepscombe for 16 years. During her time there, she delighted a loyal customer base with her culinary skills.
For the past two years, Sharon has been an integral part of Jesse Smith. She is your main point of contact for our WhatsApp ordering service during office hours and one of the friendly, helpful voices on our wholesale telephone line.
Emma – Wholesale Ordering
Emma has been a dedicated member of the Jesse Smith team for four years. Every evening, she is ready to assist you on our WhatsApp ordering line, answering your questions, taking your orders and providing exceptional support.
In addition to her role with us, Emma has twenty years of experience running her own local business. She collaborates regularly with hotels and wedding venues to offer babysitting and wedding creche services, ensuring families receive top-notch care for their children during special events.
Emma’s commitment and expertise make her an invaluable asset to our wholesale team.
Chloe – Marketing
Chloe joined the Jesse Smith team in 2023 as our Head of Marketing after graduating from the Royal Agricultural University. She studied Agricultural Business and Food Supply Chain Managment, where she developed a keen interest in the food and farming sectors.
In addition to her role at Jesse Smith, Chloe has been running a small local business for four years, Woodland Craft Designs, handcrafting and retailing country gifts and homewares.
Outside of her work life, Chloe has a strong sporting career in clay pigeon shooting, gaining both national and international titles and placings, along with earning a reserve cap for the GB Team.
